The Subaru Cosworth Impreza STI CS400 put on an impressive display at the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power last weekend.

At the hands of former British Rally champ Mark Higgins, the Cossie recorded a time of 66.08 seconds on the 1.2-mile Cholmondeley circuit - equating to an average speed of 65.45mph.

The Subaru outpaced a number of more expensive cars incuding a Nissan GTR, Lexus LFA and Ariel V8 Atom. The only car to beat the Subaru was the Lamborghini LP570-4 Performante. On the second day of the event the heavens opened and the Subaru outperformed every other car, managing a lap time four seconds quicker than the runner-up, a Lancia Delta Integrale.

Kenyon Neads, MD of Subaru UK said, "We're delighted that the CS400 in Mark's talented hands took the fight so strongly to the supercar elite."

The Cosworth Impreza STI CS400 is available to buy from Subaru with a list price of £49,995.
