This is the car which nine-time world rally champion Sebastian Loeb will be driving in next year's World Touring Car Championship.
Based on the Citroen C-Elysee saloon, the new car is the first to be homologated for the new FIA regulations which come into force next season.
If you haven't heard of the C-Elysee, you're not alone -- it's one of those saloons built by major manufacturers which are specifically intended for developing markets like China and Russia.
However, Citroen has thrown away the naturally-aspirated 1.2-litre petrol unit fitted to the standard car and in its place fitted a 380bhp version of the 1.6-litre turbocharged unit fitted to the DS3 World Rally Championship racer. The power is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox.
Citroen also claims that the C-Elysee will boast a power-to-weight ratio of 345bhp per tonne thanks to a lightweight body made of steel and carbon-fibre which keeps the car's kerb weight down to just 1100kg.
The car is currently undergoing testing and will be formally unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
