MPG: 38.7
CO2: 168
0-62 Mph: 10.8 secs

PROS: Endlessly reliable, good to drive, capable engine
CONS: Limited rear space, a bit pricey, not as appealing as the German opposition
The Accord's 2.0-litre petrol engine develops 154bhp and 141lb-ft of torque. This translates into a 0-62mph time of 10.8 seconds and a top speed of 131mph which is perfectly acceptable for a large family saloon such as this.
The Accord handles very well indeed - although the ride is a little harsh especially over bumpy surfaces - however, don't expect any excitement behind the wheel. The Accord's handling can be summed in one word - competent - expect nothing more and nothing less.
The Accord is a good-looking car and its external appearance is further enhanced by standard-fit alloy wheels. Metallic paint can also be added for £490.
The interior of the car is sophisticated, as the seating is part leather. MP3 connectivity and Bluetooth both comes as standard, however satellite navigation is not included and is available as a combination with rear parking sensors for an expensive £1,150.
Electric door mirrors and electric front windows are also standard features and climate control and cruise control are both also included in the car's list price.
The Accord should be very safe, having scored the full five stars in the Euro NCAP safety tests. A full suite of airbags is included as standard along with stability control and ABS to help prevent a crash in the first instance.
Honda have a legendary reliability reputation and chances are that the Accord will outlive you. A three year/90,000 mile warranty is included as standard.
This car provides a reasonable amount of boot space for storage, which is typical of a large family vehicle. The maximum boot space is 467 litres.
The Accord 2.0 i-VTEC ES GT Auto is available from £24,090, which is a lot of money for a Honda. Running costs are not extortionate but they're not astoundingly cheap either. CO2 emissions of 168g/km put the Accord in VED band H which is pretty reasonable for a car of this type but the combined fuel economy is a disappointing 38.7mpg - a BMW 320i will manage nearly 45mpg.
All in all, the Accord is a good car and it does undercut the German opposition in terms of price, however it's not quite cheap enough to seem like good value.
