The exciting new Jeep Avenger has been revealed ahead of its global debut at the Paris Motor Show on 17 October. A pure electric small SUV sister car to the Jeep Renegade, it arrives in the UK in early 2023.

The Jeep Avenger is targeting a younger, more feminine customer base than the Renegade. It has a sleek and sporty appearance, with chunky wheelarches, a sculpted bonnet and high-tech LED lights that frame a modern version of the Jeep seven-bar grille.

It has a confident stance on the road and the cleanly-cut lines are certainly more modern than the boxier, more utilitarian Jeep Renegade. Appealing options include extra-large alloy wheels and a contrast roof to set off a bright colour range that will include this vivid metallic yellow.

The Jeep Avenger is derived from a new version of the platform used by Stellantis brand rivals such as the Peugeot e-2008 and Vauxhall Mokka-e. The company hasn’t revealed full technical details, but says it is targeting a pure electric driving range of 248 miles.

This is significantly ahead of the 209-mile range you get from a Vauxhall Mokka-e. It suggests the new Jeep Avenger will be fitted with a larger battery than the Vauxhall’s 50kWh unit. We will find out more at the Paris Motor Show – where Jeep will also confirm how powerful the new Avenger will be.

We do know the 2023 Jeep Avenger will be offered in both two-wheel and more powerful four-wheel drive form. This is a rarity for the small SUV sector. The promise of impressive ground clearance, breakover and approach angles will give it good off-road abilities, but also serve up plenty of stability and driver confidence in poor weather conditions.

Jeep hasn’t yet revealed the 2023 Avenger’s interior, but we expect it to be as distinctive as the exterior. The lively interior of the Jeep Renegade shows what the American brand can achieve – and a big lift in quality and finish is certain for the Jeep Avenger, too. It will also benefit from technologically advanced infotainment screens and other features.

Because the Jeep Avenger is a car likely to appeal to young families, interior practicality has been a key focus during development. The company promises it will have plenty of space for both people and cargo, utilising the inherent space efficiencies of modern electric car platforms.

“The all-new Avenger will offer Jeep brand capability that is rightsized for the European market,” said Antonella Bruno, head of Jeep Europe at Stellantis. “This modern, fun and emotional SUV will appeal to a growing set of customers who are looking for a capable, compact, modern and all-electric Jeep brand alternative to the current players.”

Prices for the new Jeep Avenger are yet to be confirmed but expected to start from around £30,000. Ordering will open on the day of its reveal at Paris, on 17 October. UK deliveries are scheduled to begin in early 2023, adds Jeep.
