This is the new Smart ForStars concept, which is due to appear on the Smart stand at the Paris Motor Show later this month.

The ForStars has been created to show the styling direction Smart is going in with the new ForTwo and ForFour models, and is being developed with the help of Renault.

The ForStars is significantly bigger than the current ForTwo -- suggesting that the next generation ForTwo will be larger than its predecessor -- and features far more aggressive styling.

The powertrain is vastly different too. Despite (almost) sharing its name with a type of petrol, the ForStars is all-electric. It's fitted with an 80bhp electric motor coupled to a 135kW lithium-ion battery which can be recharged fully in seven hours.

The new ForTwo will be available with this new electric powertrain, alongside a range of three-pot petrol and diesel engines.

The next-generation ForTwo will go on sale in the UK towards the end of next year, with prices kicking off from around the £12,000 mark.
