Skoda has confirmed that its new convertible CitiJet concept will be making its world debut at the Worthersee tuning festival next week.
The CitiJet took 16 Skoda apprentices sixth months to build and had the backing of Skoda's head designer Jozef Kaban and his team.
The result is a city convertible based on the Skoda Citigo which features blue-and-white metallic paintwork, blue 16-inch alloy wheels, a hand-made rear spoiler and twin tailpipes. Under the bonnet, the CitiJet is fitted with the 74bhp 1.0-litre engine from the Citigo.
Inside, the cabin is based on the Skoda Citigo Sport special edition, featuring a red-stitched leather-lined steering wheel, a 300-watt sound system, red and white accents for the dashboard and part-leather trim.
"Our apprentices have put their hearts and souls into this vehicle, said Kaban. "Every little detail, no matter how small, was discussed, agreed upon and put into practice by the team. It was a real team effort. The outcome: a unique and emotional car, of which everybody involved should be very proud."
