Kia has announced it will unveil a new sports car concept at the Detroit Motor Show next month.

Details of the new concept, which was designed by Kia's California-based design studio, are scarce; however, Kia has confirmed that the car will be a 2+2 sports car which it claims "is aimed at delivering head-turning looks whilst providing superb driving enjoyment whether on the road or at the track".

Apart from releasing the teaser image you see above, Kia has revealed very little else about the new car, but it is likely to feature elements from Kia's new design language. The concept was designed under the direction of Kia's styling boss Peter Schreyer.

The Detroit Motor Show will run from 13-26 January 2014.
