The Red Bull Formula One team, which won both the drivers' and constructors' championships this season, has recruited a title sponsor for the first time in its eight-year history.

Nissan's luxury subdivision, Infiniti, has agreed a technical partnership with the all-conquering F1 team, which from 2013 onwards will be renamed Infiniti Red Bull Racing.

Despite the move, Renault will continue to supply the engines for the team.

Red Bull and Infiniti have been commercial partners since March 2011, and it is hoped that both partners will benefit from the new venture.

Red Bull Racing Team Principal Christian Horner said: "Red Bull Racing and Infiniti have been working on a number of initiatives since the start of our relationship in March 2011. During that time, Infiniti has demonstrated significant technical prowess and I've been impressed by the depth of the wider engineering capabilities of the Nissan Motor Company."
