British car manufacturer Caterham Cars will make an entry into Formula One racing this weekend when logos for the brand will be carried on the Team Lotus F1 cars.

Caterham and Lotus have a long history, with Caterham originally being a Lotus dealer which later bought the rights to manufacture the legendary Lotus 7 sports car as the Caterham 7.

Caterham was bought in April by Malaysian businessman and Lotus F1 team principal, Tony Fernandes, and the move will see the cars of Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen adorned with the name of the legendary British marque.

There is now speculation that Caterham’s road cars will begin to show the fruits of the partnership with new F1-themed Caterhams believed to be in the works.
