The Seat Ibiza ST S Copa 1.2 TDI CR 5dr comes with a fair amount of equipment and boasts to be one of the most cost-effective estates to date. On top of this, it is also quite a good looking vehicle with a comfortable drive.

PROS:  Perfect for those who don't want an MPV, the Seat Ibiza ST S Copa 1.2 TDI CR 5dr is not only an aesthetically pleasing estate, it is practical and inexpensive to buy with low running costs.

CONS:  The interior offers no-frills and the engine is a little on the weak side.

Behind the Wheel

Producing 133 lb-ft torque power at 1500 rpm, and 74 bhp (75 ps) at 4000 rpm, the Seat Ibiza S Copa 1.2 TDI CR really isn’t the best in terms of speed. It has a top speed of 104 mph and travels from 0-62 mph in 13.9 seconds.

The Seat Ibiza S Copa 1.2 TDI CR comes in the shape of a medium sized family estate with a sporty edge and front wheel drive.

Straight roads are more suited to the Seat Ibiza ST SE Copa 1.2 TSI DSG 5dr. B-roads are a different story and the Seat’s body lean becomes more apparent. The gearboxes feel firm and slick to use, but the suspension weak and the cabin can become a little shaky and unsettled, with the car bouncing about a little at higher speeds. The engine is a little on the noisy side, this becomes more apparent once you hit certain speeds.

Looks & Equipment

The Seat Ibiza S Copa 1.2 TDI CR has no problem turning heads and is a good looking car. However, the materials inside the Seat Ibiza S Copa 1.2 TDI CR are more durable than they are luxurious.

All models come with buttons on the steering column, which control the MP3 and CD player. All instrumentation is clearly placed and the heating and ventilation controls are clearly laid out.

On top of this the Seat Ibiza S Copa 1.2 TDI CR has electric windows, alloy wheels, electric door mirrors, air con, stainless steel roof rails and cruise control. Metallic paint comes as an optional extra.

Practicality, Safety & Reliability

The Seat Ibiza S Copa 1.2 TDI CR scored a maximum five-star Euro NCAP result for crash safety, which makes it a car you can trust.

The interior of the Seat Ibiza S Copa 1.2 TDI CR offers an ample amount of space in the front and due to the extension of the rear doors, getting into the back is easy. The driver is able to adjust the seat to his or her preferences and there is ample headroom available.

The boot offers plenty of space and widens towards the tailgate in order to accommodate wider items. The boot in fact goes from 430 litres to 1164 litres with the seats down.

The Seat Ibiza S Copa 1.2 TDI CR 5dr comes fitted as standard with a driver, passenger and front side airbags as well as central locking, an alarm and immobiliser as standard.

The Seat Ibiza S Copa 1.2 TDI CR 5dr is a reliable vehicle and offers a 3-year warranty on 60,000 miles.

Value for Money

The Seat Ibiza S Copa 1.2 TDI CR is £14,260. The car tends to hold its value pretty well, too.

The diesel engine is environmentally friendly and offers very low CO2 emissions of 105 g/km. On top of this, the Seat Ibiza S Copa 1.2 TDI CR 5dr has a combined average of 70.6 mpg, which makes it an incredibly low cost car to run.

The S Copa is a great option if low running costs are a high priority, but with the lack of power and the basic trim, a more expensive model might be worth the extra price. It represents excellent value for money.
