Volkswagen has announced the pricing and specification details for the new R-Line version of its CC four-door coupe.
The R-Line trim becomes the new range-topper, sitting above the existing standard and GT trims and offering more equipment.
In addition to the kit included as standard on the GT, the R-Line gets a new front grille with round fog lights, a new front bumper, an R-Line logo in the radiator grille, sill extensions, LED daytime-running lights and 18-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, the R-Line gets a multi-function steering wheel and new trim.
Two engines will be offered with the R-Line trim: a 2.0-litre petrol with 207bhp and a 2.0-litre diesel with 175bhp. Both engines are offered with a choice between six-speed manual and DSG gearboxes.
The diesel comes with VW's BlueMotion technology, which includes battery regeneration and stop-start, and as a result will return 58.9mpg with CO2 emission of 125g/km with the manual gearbox. The petrol model, meanwhile, will return 38.7mph and emit 169g/km of CO2, again with the manual 'box.
Order books for the new CC R-Line open tomorrow, with prices starting from £29,505 for the petrol with the manual gearbox, rising to £31,520 for the diesel with the DSG transmission.
