The sixties was the best decade for classic cars, research from classic car insurer Footman James has revealed.

Footman James surveyed over 3,500 classic vehicle owners and 64% of respondents rated the 1960s as the era of classic motoring which they have the most interest in.

54% of those surveyed claimed to have an interest in cars from the 1970s while 32% were fans of cars built during the 1950s. Only 28% of respondents were interested in cars made in the 1980s.
