Photos, prices and specifications have been released for this autumn’s Scirocco release.
Volkswagen have been producing the Scirocco for 40 years and the new revised edition hopes to keep up the long tradition of distinctive looks and fashionable interiors. It was revealed in March at the Geneva Motor Show and comes with an array of improvements.
On the outside, the bumper styling has been revamped and there are new headlights and tail lights. Bi-xenon lights will be an optional extra and all models will have LED tail lights. The bumper changes have been made to be ‘lower and more purposeful’ with blades in the outer section to bring it in line with the aero-dynamic properties of the Golf GTI.
Engine options will include six turbocharged direct-injection petrol or diesel choices which vary in efficiency between 35.3 and 67.3mpg. The Scirocco R will contain a 2.0 litre engine and will produce 280 PS which is 15 more PS than previously; it comes with 19’’ ‘Cadiz’ alloy wheels.
Prices will start at £20,455 for the 1.4 litre TSI and rise to £33,795 for the top of the range Scirocco R. Four trim levels will be available: Scirocco, GT, R-Line and R. Entry level models will include features such as a touch screen system, air conditioning, automatic wipers and headlights, and sports seats.
