Prices have been confirmed for the new smart fortwo cabrio, which is available to order now from just £13,265 on-the-road.
Order books are open now ahead of a showroom launch early next year. The latest addition to the smart range boasts an electrically-operated fabric roof that takes just 12 seconds to deploy or retract. The triple-layered soft top, including glass rear screen, fully opens, while the side bars can be removed to stow easily in cabrio’s folding tailgate. The standard black soft top can be upgraded to a red soft top for an extra £115, while a wind deflector can be added for £59.
The fortwo cabrio is available with a choice 71 bhp or 90 bhp turbocharged engines, the former returning 65.7 mpg combined, while the more powerful engine, which costs an extra £595, returns 67.3mpg. Both emit just 99g/km of CO2, and at launch are fitted with a six-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox with a five-speed manual due to follow in the spring.
The 2.69 metres long smart fortwo cabrio boasts a 6.95m turning circle making it ideally suited to urban motoring. The passion trim level has 15-inch eight-spoke alloy wheels, automatic climate control; smart audio system with Bluetooth connectivity; and a choice of either an orange/black or grey/black interior.
Prime trim level features 15-inch five-twin-spoke black alloys with high sheen finish, black leather upholstery with grey stitching, heated seats, and extra dashboard instrument pods with cockpit clock and rev counter. The proxy model is fitted with 16-inch eight-Y-spoke black alloy wheels, blue and white Artico and cloth interior, and a Sports Package which adds a leather multifunction steering wheel, lowered sports suspension, rubber-studded brushed steel sports pedals, and a chrome exhaust finisher.
The £795 Premium Package is available on all trim levels, and adds rear parking sensors, smart media system with navigation. a height adjustable steering wheel and heated, electrically adjustable door mirrors.
The Premium Plus Package is available on prime and proxy models for an extra £1,295, adding ambient lighting, welcome home function, LED headlamps with enhanced LED daytime running lights, cube-like LED tail lights, rain and light sensors; and a rear-view camera.
