The pricing and specifications of a third trim level for the innovative two-seat electric car from Renault, the Twizy, have now been announced by the firm.
The urban compact two-seat Twizy car, which got its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year, will be launched in the UK in March 2012, and will be priced from £6,690 OTR with monthly battery hire starting at £40.
Renault have now announced that there will be a third trim level available for the Twizy, called 'Colour'. The newly announced Colour version will come in between the two other trim levels which have already been announced: Urban and Technic. At £6,950 it is priced at £260 more than the entry level Urban car, and £450 less than the range-topping Technic version.
The Colour trim is designed to emphasise the Twizy's fun side, coming with a choice of three bodywork colours - black, grey or white, which can be combined with any one of the available roof and side panel colours: Urban Blue, Ivy Green or Flame Orange.
These same colours are also present inside the car on the upholstery and glovebox, and buyers will even be able to order colour-coordinated, diamond alloy wheels in these colours, which will be priced at £350. Colour-coordinated half-scissor doors will also be available to order for £455.
The standard equipment which comes with every Twizy includes two gloveboxes (one lockable), heated tinted windscreen, Z.E. onboard computer, econometer and battery consumption display on the dashboard, 3 metre charging cable and 13 inch wheels. Safety features include front airbag, immobiliser and steering lock, three-point seatbelts in the front and rear and the addition of lateral restraint for the front seatbelt.
The Twizy is a lightweight vehicle, weighing in at 450kg, has nippy handling for driving around town, and has a top speed of 50mph. The range of the new Twizy is 60 miles on the urban cycle, and buyers can make reservations now through the Renault website.
