Radical has released the first official pictures of its new Xtreme Coupe, which the Peterborough-based firm describes as "a Le Mans-inspired racer for the road".
The Radical Xtreme Coupe will be powered by a heavily tuned mid-mounted Ford V6 engine which will send 380bhp to the rear wheels through a seven-speed Quaife flappy-paddle gearbox.
With an overall weight of just over 900kg, giving a power-to-weight ratio of 422bhp per tonne, the RXC will complete the 0-62mph sprint in 2.8 seconds -- three tenths quicker than a McLaren MP4-12C.
The RXC is the largest car Radical has ever produced and has space for two in its cabin. In addition to this, Radical has fitted the car with a variety of luxuries including air-con, electric mirrors and a heated windscreen.
The car's lightweight composite body is built around a new tubular steel spaceframe which meets FIA motorsport safety regulations. The car's massive carbon-fibre rear wing and front and rear diffusers work together to produce 900kg of downforce at top speed.
Huge 330mm front and 310mm rear disc brakes provide the stopping power and Radical also claims that a carbon-ceramic package will be available as an option.
The RXC will make its public debut at the Autosport International Show at the Birmingham NEC in January and is expected to go on sale next summer with prices starting from £89,500.
