Porsche has revealed images of the new four-wheel drive 911 Carrera.
The 911 Carrera 4 and 4S models will make their world debut at the Paris Motor Show next month.
The Carrera 4 features a widened body and 22m wider rear wheel arches. In addition to this, the rear tyres are a full 10mm wider than they are on the standard Carrera 2.
The engines, suspension and gearboxes are all shared with the standard Carrera 2. This means that the Carrera 4 gets a 3.4-litre flat-six which develops 345bhp and propels the car from 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds (4.7 seconds for the convertible).
The Carrera 4S, on the other hand, gets a 3.8-litre flat-six which churns out 395bhp, making for a 0-62mph time of 4.1 seconds (4.3 for the convertible) and a top speed of 186mph (184mph for the convertible).
The new Carrera 4 is 65kg lighter than its predecessor, and this translates into a marked improvement in fuel economy -- the Carrera 4 will return 32.8mpg while the 4S will manage 31mpg.
The Carrera 4 is expected to go on sale in the UK in December with a starting price of £77,924 for the base Carrera 4 Coupe, rising to £96,619 for the drop-top Carrera 4S.
