Peugeot has unveiled the car it will be using to compete in this year's Pikes Peak hillclimb.
The Peugeot 208 T16 will be driven by nine-time WRC champion Sebastian Loeb at the legendary world's highest hillclimb on 30 June.
This year's event marks Peugeot's return to Pikes Peak after its victories there in 1988 and 1989, and because of this, Peugeot claims that, "no punches have been pulled with the 208 T16 Pikes Peak" which will compete in the event's premier 'Unlimited' class.
As its name would suggest, the 'Unlimited' class places very few restrictions on what manufacturers can do to their cars. Peugeot has yet to release any detailed information about the car but the images show that the 208 T16 will be fitted with a huge bodykit, a giant rear wing and a not-inconsiderably-sized front splitter.
Loeb will be thankful of the downforce provided by this bodykit too. Pikes Peak is a fearsome course which runs for 12.4 miles through the mountains of Colorado, finishing at an altitude of 4,301 metres.
