The Peugeot e-2008 electric SUV has been given an EV range boost, as part of a 2022 model update. The new small SUV EV is available to buy now with prices starting at £33,700.
The Peugeot e-2008 has been a huge hit for the French carmaker since it was launched in 2019, but the 2022 model promises to provide even more value and driver enjoyment with a range of important updates.
The big change for the e-2008 in 2022 is found in its advertised electric range, which has been extended to 214 miles. Peugeot has achieved this by fitting low rolling resistance tyres as standard and reworking the transmission's gear ratios to improve efficiency on the motorway.
The e-2008 is also fitted with a new heat pump that will, Peugeot says, optimise the energy efficiency of the heating and air con system.
The model line-up has been trimmed down from five to four models, with Peugeot axing the base-level Allure trim line due to customer preferences for higher spec vehicles. Standard equipment has also been bolstered across the range, with Black Diamond door mirror covers, finished in Nera Black Metallic paint, now fitted as standard across the range.
All versions of the e-2008 get LED lights, touchscreen infotainment and air con as standard. High spec GT models get 10-inch navigation with live traffic updates and a sporty body kit that includes a body-coloured grille and 17- or 18-inch wheels.
As before, the e-2008 is powered by a 50kWh battery that drives the front-wheels via a 100kW electric motor that produces 136PS. You also get 260Nm of torque from 300rpm, with the 0-62mph taking around nine seconds.
A full battery charge will take between five and eight hours from a home wallbox, but you can boost the battery to 80% in 30 minutes if you hook it up to a 100kW rapid charger.
