A new mid-sized SUV from Renault is coming to the UK next year.
Called the Renault Arkana, the new model has a distinct coupe silhouette, and will compliment the all-new Captur and Kadjar in the Frech carmaker’s SUV line up.
Other styling features include large Renault logo in the grille centre, chrome brightwork and trim elements, and all-LED headlights with C-shaped signature. On the inside you’ll find a 513-litre boot, chrome details, and leather-finished gear lever.
Mild and full hybrid power options will be available. The former is a 1.3-litre four-cylinder turbocharged direct injection TCe petrol engine combined with mild-hybrid technology, while the latter combines a 1.6-litre petrol engine with a lithium-ion battery and two electric motors for a total power output of 140bhp. A smart multi-mode clutchless gearbox is derived from F1 technology.
Technology includes 4.2-inch, 7-inch, or 10-inch Driver Information Display dependent on the model, complemented by the 7-inch horizontal or 9.3-inch portrait Easy Link touchscreen infotainment display. Wireless smartphone charging and an electric automatic parking brake with Auto-Hold option are standard, while hybrid models feature an e-shifter gear selector. There are four USB plugs - two front and two rear – and continuous 4G connectivity. Renault Easy Link multimedia system will be available in three configurations, all compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Driver Assistance Systems include Motorway & Traffic Jam Companion, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Active Emergency Braking System AEBS, Blind Spot Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keep Assist, and a 360-degree camera.
The Renault Arkana will be available to order from July 2021, with first deliveries in September 2021. Prices are yet to be confirmed.
