Chrysler's new 300C goes on sale in the UK on 14th June, with prices starting from £35,995.
Chrysler claims that the new 300C is "better built, safer, even more lavishly equipped and more efficient than its predecessor".
The 300C is only being offered in the UK with one engine, a 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel with a choice of two different power outputs: 187bhp and 239bhp. The 236bhp unit develops 398lb-ft of torque and propels the 300C from 0-62mph in 7.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 144mph.
Fuel efficiency is 39.8mpg on the combined cycle with CO2 emissions of 185g/km.
Chrysler claims that the 300C is much more of a quality product than its predecessor with high-grade materials used throughout and new nappa leather seats.
The 300C comes in two choices of trim: Limited and the top-spec Executive. All cars get Chrysler's 'Uconnect' infotainment system, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, 18-inch alloys and an 8.4-inch touch-screen display.
Chrysler is also making a lot of noise about the 300C's safety credentials. The new car features 70 electronic safety aids and seven airbags, making it, in Chrysler's words, one of the safest cars on the road.
Price Hike
The new 300C is significantly more expensive than the car it replaces. The prices for the old 300C started at under £30,000, whereas prices for the new model begin at £35,995.
Chrysler has defended this move, claiming that the amount of standard equipment included justifies the price.
Nigel Land, Chrysler's UK brand director, said, "[The 300C] is still less expensive than anything else in the executive segment if you compare like for like on equipment levels."
"The 300C is well equipped, whether in Limited or even more luxurious Executive trim. Unlike the majority of its rivals the equipment comes as standard."
