MINI launch special GT model | New Release - Car News Oct 2017

MINI have released a new special edition model that harks back to an iconic Mini from the past.

The new MINI 1499 GT is designed to evoke memories of the sporty 1275 GT version released in 1969, and like its predecessor the new model boasts a more potent engine than standard MINIs. Powered by a 102bhp Twin Turbo engine, the MINI 1499 GT will accelerate from 0-60mph in a fraction over ten seconds.

External paint options are either Pepper White with black 1499 GT side stripes, or Midnight Black with gold 1499 GT side stripes. Additional exterior features include the MINI John Cooper Works Sport Pack, featuring 17-inch Track Spoke black alloy wheels, dark tinted windows, white indicator lenses, John Cooper Works front and rear bumpers, side skirts, a split level spoiler and John Cooper Works door entry plates. Interior features include John Cooper Works Sports seats, badges, and steering wheel, as well as multi-function controls, cruise control, a Visual Boost radio with MINI Connected smartphone compatibility and Piano Black interior trim, Carbon Black interior details and an Anthracite headlining. A sports suspension completes the MINI 1499 GT package.

Just 1,499 examples will be built between November 2017 and February 2018, with prices starting from £16,990. The 1499 GT will also be available on a special finance offer from MINI Financial Services. Called MINI Ready Fuel Go, the deal includes one year’s inclusive insurance with a £299 customer deposit and £299 monthly payment.
