Mercedes has announced a range of enhancements and a new model line for its C-Class range, to make the car more appealing to buyers ahead of its replacement this summer.
The new AMG Sport Edition replaces the existing AMG Sport and AMG Sport Plus model lines and is available in saloon, estate and coupe variants.
While the new car retains the AMG bodystyling, steering wheel, alloy wheels and 15mm lower sports suspension from the outgoing AMG Sport model, the new car gets an AMG boot lid spoiler, dark-tinted headlamps and a high-gloss black grille.
Inside, the AMG Sport Edition gets AMG Sport Plus seats upholstered in black with blue-grey contrast stitching, as well as dark brushed aluminium trim.
Mercedes is also launching two optional packages for the C-Class range. The first is the Premium Package which costs £1,595 and includes COMAND Online with Media Interface, reversing camera, heated front seats, a lighting package and DAB radio.
The second package, named Premium Plus, costs £2,495 and includes the same kit featured in the Premium Package, as well as a panoramic glass sunroof.
Mercedes is trimming back the C-Class range in preparation for the new model, which goes on sale in the summer -- just 19 models are available now, compared to 47 before the enhancements.
The new AMG Sport Edition is available to order now, with prices starting from £30,170 for the saloon, £31,370 for the estate and £32,455 for the coupe.
