Lexus has expanded its CT 200h line-up with a new mid-range Advance model.
The Advance fits into the CT 200h range above the existing SE model but below the Luxury version.
In addition to the features included as standard on the SE model, the Advance also gets a new sat-nav system, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, folding electrically-adjustable door mirrors, reversing camera, auto-dimming rear view mirror and metallic paint.
Like the SE, the Advance also comes with dual-zone climate control, push button start, 17-inch alloys, Bluetooth, fog lights, rear privacy glass and a six-speaker audio system with USB port.
Lexus is also making a big noise about the introduction of Tahara, which it claims is a "supple and durable new upholstery that is an attractive alternative to leather." Not only is Tahara lighter than leather, it is also more environmentally-friendly to make, generating 65 per cent less CO2.
The CT 200h Advance also comes with Lexus's MoveOn navigation system which can be operated using a touch pad integrated into the centre console. MoveOn uses a 3G connection to a built-in SIM card to access Live information services, eliminating the need for a mobile phone link.
The Advance model costs £500 more than the SE but £1,500 less than the Luxury, with prices starting from £24,495.
The Lexus CT 200h is available to order now and the first delivers are expected before the end of the year.
