The updated Volkswagen Golf has been added to the Motability scheme.

Motability customers will be able to enjoy a host of new features, including LED daytime running lights, re-profiled bumpers and front wings, a range of vibrant new colours and wheel designs, and a range of infotainment systems featuring larger screens and a higher resolution. Golf SE trim upwards now comes with App-Connect system, enabling smartphones to be easily synced to the car’s infotainment touchscreen.  Models with the optional Discover Navigation Pro infotainment system will gain Gesture Control, allowing certain menus to be navigated with a simple sweep of a hand.

The Golf hatchback, available in both three- or five-door form, has 380 litres of luggage capacity, rising to 1,270 litres with the rear seats folded down.  Meanwhile, the Golf Estate has 605 litres with the rear seats upright, increasing to 1,620 litres with them folded.

The revised Golf range also sees the introduction of Volkswagen’s new 1.5-litre TSI EVO petrol engine, which includes Active Cylinder Management and is available with BlueMotion technology that shuts down the engine when the car is coasting and restarts almost instantly when the driver re-applies the throttle.

Other power options include the 1.0-litre TSI 110 PS turbocharged petrol engine that Motability customers can choose in SE trim with no DLA Advanced Payment.  This trim level includes the Composition Media infotainment system with eight-inch colour touchscreen, DAB digital radio, CD player, USB cable connection and Bluetooth telephone connection.  SE models also boast Adaptive Cruise Control, Traction Control, Electronic Stability Control, Start/Stop technology, electronic parking brake, electric power-assisted steering and electrically adjustable door mirrors.

Following on from the SE is the SE Navigation, available to Motability customers with a £99 DLA Advanced Payment.  Golf SE Navigation includes the latest generation Discover Navigation infotainment system, boasting satellite navigation with branded points of interest, a choice of three routes and pre-loaded European map data.  Other trims available on the Motability scheme include the Golf GT and Golf R-Line.

The Golf is now available to customers who receive the Higher Rate Motability Allowance, the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment, the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement, or the Armed Forces Independence Payment.

The revised Golf joins the new Tiguan SUV, up!, Polo, Jetta, Passat, Beetle, Scirocco, Golf SV, Touran and Sharan models on the Motability scheme, with full information available at Volkswagen retailers.
