The amazing new Lamborghini Veneno has made its worldwide debut at the Geneva Motor Show today.
The 740bhp, 221mph hypercar is based on the Lamborghini Aventador and uses the same 6.5-litre V12 engine. The seven-speed automated manual gearbox and pushrod suspension are also taken from the Veneno's less expensive, less rarefied brother.
0-62mph takes less than three seconds, thanks partly to Lambo's liberal use of carbon-fibre in the car's construction -- every single body panel is made of the stuff.
The car costs 3 million Euros (£2.57m) and only three will ever be made. And unfortunately, all three have already been sold.
The Veneno's styling is typically Lamborghini, with a huge adjustable rear wing, a rear diffuser with four integrated exhaust pipes and massive flared wheel arches, which house 20-inch alloys at the front and 21-inchers at the rear. The entire front end of the car also works as another wing, generating real downforce.
Lamborghini has built the Veneno to celebrate its 50th anniversary. And to pay tribute to the firm's Italian heritage, the three cars will be painted in one of the colours of the Italian flag: Red, White or Green.
