The 2012 Steed pick-up is now on sale at 40 dealers UK-wide for a starting price of just £13,998.
All dealers will offer the ‘Great Wall’ promise meaning that drivers can take advantage of inflation-proof servicing plans, service pick-up and drop-off, as well as the option of arranging a test drive if customers live or work within a 20-mile radius of their nearest Great Wall dealership.
The model is produced by one of China’s most successful car manufacturers, the Great Wall Motor Company and is described by the firm as a ‘practical pick-up, equally adept as a workhorse or a weekend getaway vehicle’.
Features on the entry-level Steed include 16-inch alloy wheels, daytime running lights, remote central locking, a Thatcham-approved Category 1 alarm, electric front and rear windows, an Alpine CD/radio with USB/MP3. This is in addition to Bluetooth connectivity, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, air-conditioning, heated fronted seats and a full leather interior.

For £2,000 more drivers can upgrade to the Steed SE (£15,998). This adds black roof rails, load bay liner, and rear parking sensors body-coloured hard-top canopy, body-coloured spoiler, chrome trim to the daytime running lights and chrome side bars.
“The Steed’s chunky appearance – amplified by muscular wheel-arches and high ground clearance – signals its durability as well as its capabilities as a versatile load-lugger, both on- and off-road,” the manufacturer added.
