The Fiat Tipo name is to return after the manufacturer confirmed it will be carried by its next generation C-segment saloon.
However, at this stage Fiat are refusing to confirm whether the new Tipo will be released on the UK market.
The new Fiat Tipo saloon is based on the Aegea Project model unveiled at May’s Istanbul Motor Show, and as well as being part-developed in Turkey will also be manufactured in the country at Fiat’s Bursa factory.
Powered by a choice from two MultiJet II turbo-diesel engines or two petrol units, the new Tipo will boast the latest Fiat Chrysleyr Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system with hands-free Bluetooth calling and audio streaming, as well as a rear parking camera and TomTom SatNav.
The Italian-designed Tipo will be the latest in a long line of popular Fiat models to bear the name.
