A new face-lifted Honda Accord with some subtle styling tweaks will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.
Subtle really is the operative word. Indeed, you could be forgiven for missing the changes completely. Eagled-eyed readers will have noticed the new grill, new headlights, rear light clusters and bumpers but for the rest of us it really is a case of ‘meet the new boss, same as the old boss’.
Inside the story is much the same. The handbrake and door handles have been given some attractive silver embellishments, there are some new seat trims available on certain models and both the ES and EX models receive some foot well lights which bathe your feet in a blue glow.
Under the bonnet, Honda’s boffins have been at work, squeezing every last ounce of efficiency out of the car’s 2.2 litre diesel engine. They’ve done a fine job and they’ve cut the saloons CO2 emissions to 138g/km – a reduction of 9g/km. Similar improvements have been made to the estate version.
So, there will be no massive changes to the Accord, however, these subtle improvements should help the Accord stay competitive in a very competitive market sector.
You’ll be able to buy a new Accord in Britain from July.
