You may recall that a couple of weeks ago we told you about a new British luxury sports car which, according to the manufacturer at least, will "refresh the classic British sports car, for the 21st Century."
All-new British sports car set for April launch
The car, codenamed 'Project Judi' is the work of an upstart manufacturer by the name of David Brown Automotive. And for the first time, the company has released some information on what we can expect when the car makes its debut in April.
Underneath, the car is essentially a Jaguar XKR, albeit it one that has been given a thorough tuning by engineers from the Envisage group. The Jag's 5.0-litre V8 engine has been carried over too, powering the rear wheels through a six-speed automatic gearbox.
The company claims that "performance will be suitably brisk, yet refined," with 0-60mph taking 4.6 seconds and a top speed in excess of 155mph.
Explaining the decision to use a Jaguar chassis and powertrain, David Brown said: "As reliability is vital, we chose to adopt a thoroughly proven and acclaimed chassis that not only delivers dynamic performance but also lends itself to our lightweight aluminium design.
"I wanted all the impact and style of a classic sports car, but with modern capabilities and conveniences. This is what I want in a car, but it's not something anyone really offers. So, I've created it myself."
The car will be unveiled at the Top Marques Show, in Monaco, on 17 April 2014.
