The award-winning Citroen DS5 went on sale in the UK this past Monday, offering a choice of four refined Euro V engines to consumers across Britain.

Citroën lovers across the nation will now be able to purchase the Citroën DS5 as the model is finally made available on these shores.

The new Citroën has five doors, five full-size seats and up to 465-litres of boot space. New features include a keyless access & start, smart beams, a colour head-up display and a new Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS).

The manufacturer defines the DS5 as compact and agile, spacious and versatile, arguing that the new DS5 “combines bold, modern styling with a luxurious aviation-inspired interior featuring a cockpit roof and pilot-style cabin.”

UK car buyers can choose from a range of four Euro V engines - THP 200, e-HDi 110, HDi 160 and the new 200hp diesel electric Hybrid4.

The new Citroën DS5 is also the first Citroën to be fitted with diesel hybrid technology. The vehicle’s performance has CO2 emissions from just 99g/km.

“As well as impressive fuel economy, the sub-100g/km model is exempt from the London congestion charge and, for business users, the BiK tax rate is just 10%,” added the manufacturer.

UK pricing

The CS5 is available from a starting price of £22,400, which increases up to £32,200 for the range-topping DSport Hybrid4 version. The car maker also offers consumers a package of free three year Servicing & Citroën Assistance.

The new DS5 has also been recognised with a number of prestigious awards. While Top Gear magazine voted it the ‘Family Car of the Year’, it also landed the prize of ‘Car Design of the Year’ – and award based on the votes of Car Design News international audience designers and industry experts.
