With the launch of its new pick-up truck, the Great Wall Motor Company will become the first China-based car maker to sell its vehicles to the British public from next month.
The Great Wall Motor Company is one of China's leading car makers in the production of pick-ups and small 4x4 vehicles.
From next month, the Chinese manufacturer will debut on the British marketplace with the launch of its new Steed pick-up at the Commercial Vehicle Show, which will take place in Birmingham from 24th to 26th April.
The new Steed will be on sale throughout a new nationwide network of up to 40 Great Wall dealers. As the manufacturer said, these dealers were "hand-picked" to reflect the brand's values and philosophy. "The dealers have promised standards of customer service that will break new ground in the pick-up market," stated the Chinese manufacturer.
The pick-up comes at a starting price of £13,998, and the manufacturer has assured customers that it "will offer unrivalled value for money."
The Steed S model has a 2.0-litre diesel engine, six-speed gearbox and selectable-on-the-move two/four-wheel drive. As Great Wall Motor claims, the vehicle delivers class-leading urban fuel economy and the lowest insurance ratings of any vehicle in the pick-up sector.
British car buyers who want to find out more details about the Chinese pick-up could see it live at the CV Show next month. The car maker have stated that further details about the Steed, as well as Great Wall's comprehensive, high-value ownership proposition, will be revealed next month.
Since its formation 35 years ago, the Great Wall Motor Company has become one of the China's largest 4x4 producers. The company has over 42,000 employees worldwide and exports its range of small and large family cars, 4x4s and pick-up trucks to more than 120 countries.
The Great Wall Motor Company is now looking to establish itself in the UK industry, which is one of the world's most demanding markets for pick-up vehicles.
