The Chevrolet Captiva will go on sale in the UK in May, with prices starting from £21,995.
Buyers will have a choice of two engines: the same 2.2-litre diesel engine developing either 160bhp or 181bhp. The version with the less powerful engine will be available with a six-speed manual gearbox, while those plumping for the higher powered diesel will have a choice of six-speed manual and six-speed automatic 'boxes.
All cars will be fitted with ESP, Bluetooth, speed-sensitive power-steering and electric folding mirrors and all but the base model LS is fitted as standard with on-demand four-wheel-drive. The range-topping LTZ comes equipped with leather seats, Sat Nav, reversing camera, heated front seats and 19-inch alloy wheels.
All models will get from 0-60mph in under 10 seconds and on to a top speed of between 117mph and 124mph. Depending on the model, combined economy figures range from 36.6mpg to 42.8mpg, with CO2 figures between 170g/km and 203g/km.
