Chevrolet has announced the prices for the new Cruze hatchback which arrives on UK forecourts next month.
The new car’s prices start from £13,995, significantly undercutting the Ford Focus and Vauxhall Astra. However, the car will have to be good if Chevrolet wants to survive in a fiercely competitive sector of the market.
There is a choice of three engines – a 122bhp 1.6-litre petrol, a 139bhp, 1.8-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel engine.
Chevrolet has improved the specification over the existing Cruze saloon offering air-con, remote central locking, electric windows and a CD player as standard. Upgrading to the LT trim for £900 will buy you cruise control, a trip computer and parking sensors and the LTZ pack adds 17-inch alloys, Bluetooth and automatic headlights and wipers, amongst other things. This is available from £16,095.
The diesel car is also available with the LTZ ‘Executive Pack’ which adds heated leather seats and Sat-Nav for £19,295.
The Cruze goes on sale next month and Chevrolet will be offering a five-year warranty on all cars.
