Audi has expanded its Q3 range with the addition of a new entry-level petrol engine and a new top-of-the-range trim level.
The new 1.4-litre TFSI engine sits at the bottom of the expanded Q3 range as an alternative to the 138bhp 2.0-litre diesel model. Available in both SE and S line trim levels, and with front-wheel-drive only, the engine delivers 148bhp and 184lb-ft of torque, which it sends to the wheels through a choice of six-speed manual and seven-speed S tronic transmissions.
When specified with the manual gearbox, the Q3 1.4 TFSI will hit 62mph in 9.2 seconds (the S tronic manages it in 8.9) and has a top speed of 126mph. Combined fuel economy stands at 49.7mpg and CO2 emissions at 137g/km.
Prices start from £23,870 for the SE model with the manual gearbox, rising to £28,115 for the S line with the S tronic transmission.
Audi has also added a new 'S line Plus' specification to the top of the Q3 range. Designed to slot into the line-up above the S line model, the S line Plus carries a £2,350 over the S line but boasts a range of additional features, including 19-inch alloys, privacy glass and a choice of seven metallic paint finishes: Ice silver, Samoa orange, Monsoon grey, Caribou brown, Platinum beige, Cobalt blue and Glacier white.
Inside, the upholstery is a perforated leather and alcantara mix, and cruise control, Audi parking system plus and a 6.5-inch sat-nav with SD card slot are included as standard. This is in addition to the kit included as standard on the lesser S line model.
The Audi Q3 S line Plus is available to order now, with prices starting from £31,835.
