Alfa Romeo has the company car market firmly in its sights with the introduction of an efficient new diesel engine to its 159 range.

The new 136bhp diesel returns a combined 55.4mpg and CO2 emissions of only 134g/km.  Performance hasn’t been compromised however, and the 2.0-litre JTDM has a sub-ten second 0-62mph time.  It reaches this mark in 9.9 seconds, and produces 258 lb-ft of torque from only 1,750rpm.

Prices range from £22,500 to £26,900 dependent on the trim levels, which have also been revised.

The entry level Turismo boasts as standard 16-alloy wheels, cruise control, climate control, and Bluetooth.

Prices for the Turismo saloon start £22,500.  The Lusso version includes 17-inch multi-spoke alloys, leather seats, sports dials, rear parking sensors, and a black aluminium centre console and steering wheel inserts. The sporty Ti has 19-inch alloys, lowered suspension, black leather and alcantara sports seats, red-painted brake callipers, and satin look wing mirrors.  Optional on the Ti are carbon fibre inserts.  The top-of-the range Ti Sportwagon estate will set you back £26,900.

The Alfa 159 with these new engine and trim options can be ordered now.
