Alfa Romeo is set to significantly revise its MiTo range this May with the line-up set to boast a streamlined range, higher standard specifications and three new engines – all at lower entry prices.
In addition to the price cuts made by Alfa, the range itself has been shortened with nine models now available in contrast to the previous seventeen. This is down to the simplified trim levels, which have been renamed as Progression, Sprint, Distinctive and Quadrifogilo Verde. Standard equipment for the Distinctive and Quadrifogilo Verde trims includes rear parking sensors, cruise control and alloy pedals.
Amongst the new engines is 1.3 litre JTDM-2 diesel, which produces 85bhp and emits just 95g/km of CO2. These low emissions are made all the more financially attractive in that they qualify the car for free road tax and free travel through the congestion charge zone.
In addition to the diesel, Alfa is introducing a 1.4 litre petrol which produces 78bhp and a 1.4 litre MultiAir which produces 105bhp, offering the greatest power and torque. The former is also equipped with a stop/start system for improved emissions and mpg.
Moreover, the MiTo is available in a new colour – Metal Bronze. The new MiTos will be priced starting at £12,250 for the Progression trim, with the range topping Quadrifogilo Verde trim coming in at £17,955.
