The Alfa Romeo MiTo will be the first car in Alfa’s range to be offered with Alfa’s new twin-clutch transmission.
The new transmission will be offered on the 1.4 TB MultiAir engine and, combined with a start-stop system, will bring the car’s 0-62mph time down to 8.2 seconds – a reduction of 0.2 seconds – and will also give slight improvements in both fuel economy and carbon emissions.
The TCT ‘box is quite clever, interacting with Alfa’s DNA system and modifying the speed of the gear shift and managing the torque delivery to deliver optimum performance and economy. The TCT works automatically and can also operate as a manual sequential gearbox.
Prices for the Alfa MiTo 1.4 TB with the TCT gearbox start from £16,745.
