Smart has launched a new special edition of the fortwo city car. The fortwo cityflame edition (pictured above) goes on sale in May and includes pearlescent yellow paintwork, 15-inch black-painted three-spoke alloy wheels, Brabus headlights and a distinctive black and yellow interior. Buyers have a choice between 71bhp and 84bhp petrol engines and, in total, only 200 examples will be making it to the UK.
56 per cent of motorists think that smoking while driving should be banned, a new survey from the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) has found. 75 per cent of motorists think that lighting a cigarette is a serious distraction but only 45 per cent think an outright ban would be enforceable.
Four leading supermarkets have announced they are cutting their petrol prices tomorrow. Asda started the price war by announcing a 2p reduction in the cost of petrol. Sainsburys and Tesco are also cutting prices by up to 2p, while Morrisons is slashing prices by 3p for petrol and 1p for diesel.
The Volkswagen Golf GTD, which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show last month, is now available to order, with prices starting from £25,285 on the road. The new Golf GTD is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine with 181bhp. 0-62mph takes 7.5 seconds and flat out the GTD will do 142mph. Combined fuel economy is 67.3mpg and CO2 emissions are 109g/km.
