The new 2013 Lexus IS will be unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show next month, Lexus has announced.
The new IS is set to rival the likes of the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4 when it goes on sale next summer, and its design is influenced by both the new LFA and the LF-CC concept which was shown at the Paris motor show.
Very few details have been revealed on the new IS, but expect the top-of-the-range model to come with a 2.5-litre four-pot petrol engine mated to an electric motor. Lexus has reportedly dropped the 2.2-litre diesel model from the range and is eschewing the dreaded DERV entirely with the new model.
Pricing and specification details have yet to be released, but expect the new IS to cost slightly more than the outgoing model which was priced from around £24k.
We'll bring you more details on the new Lexus IS following its world debut in January.
