With the multicoloured decals and the foils that can be installed in the cabin, there are plenty of options for those wanting to customise the vehicle, and its bold exterior style is very good too....
Vauxhall Adam Overview
We'll begin by addressing the elephant in the room: the name. The Vauxhall Adam is named after Adam Opel, the founder of Vauxhall's European GM stable-mate, and if you can get past the name, you'll find a very capable little car.
The Adam is offered with a choice of three petrol engines: a 69bhp 1.2 and two 1.4-litre units developing either 86bhp or 98bhp.
The big news, however, is the way the Adam looks. The car features a 'floating' roof like the Audi A1 and the Citroen DS3 and is available in a stylish two-tone paintjob. It might lack the retro appeal of its major competitor, the Fiat 500, but it's a good-looking car nevertheless. Plus, buyers can choose from over a million design combinations and Vauxhall claims that it's entirely possible that no two Adams will ever be identical.
Background
Launched in 2012, the Adam is Vauxhall's first new entry into the city car market since the Agila was launched back in 2000. It was unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
Summary
If you're looking for a small, cheap and stylish city car, the Adam is a fairly safe bet. It's far from being the best car in its class, but being a Vauxhall, it will be easy to run, east to live with and easy to sell come part-exchange time.
