The Mercedes M-Class was first introduced in 1997.
The model is a 5-door hatchback and was initially available to seat 5, or 7 with an optional third seating row. It had good safety features, with front and side airbags, and was equipped with a luxury interior.
The first generation was available with a 5-speed transmission, manual or automatic, and a wide range of engines including a 4.0 litre V8 diesel. The car received a facelift in 2002 featuring a revised exterior with new bumpers and alloy wheels amongst other changes.
The second generation M-Class was produced first in 2005. The model was larger and sported a 7-speed transmission. The choice of engines had also been upgraded. In 2009 the car received a minor facelift and was equipped with new headlights and redesigned bumpers amongst other exterior changes. Moreover, the interior was restyled and a new engine choice was made available.
The current generation of the Mercedes M-Class has been in production since 2011. The cabin has been updated with an increase in rear seat legroom, and the car boasts improved fuel economy.
