Lamborghini Gallardo Overview

Only a two-seater, the Gallardo provides excellent passenger space with adequate room for even the tallest of people.

The vehicle is an incredibly fast one, and some variations of the model can hit top speeds of over 200mph.
Driving and maintaining the Gallardo will not be cheap, but the driving experience on offer is second to none.

Background

The Gallardo was first introduced in 2003, and is still in production today. Over the years there have been many updates and enhancements to the vehicle, which is Lamborghini’s most-produced model to date.

In 2005, the Gallardo SE (Special Edition) was released. The SE had a two-tone colour scheme that was consistent inside the car and out. It was also fitted as standard with a rear-view camera, multimedia system and a navigation system.

The Nera is another special edition version of the Gallardo that was released in 2007 and was only available in black. Also debuting in 2007 was the Superleggera, meaning superlight in Italian, which was designed with reduced weight to result in a faster top speed. Preceding these models was the Gallardo Spyder in 2006, a convertible with a different engine and transmission.

The LP 560-4, still in production today, was released in 2008. It is powered by a 5.2L V10 with direct injection, with improved power and torque. In Britain the model costs around £147,000.

Another Superleggera, the LP 570-4, was introduced by Lamborghini in 2010 and can accelerate from 0 – 60mph in 3.4 seconds.

The company also produced two Gallardos, L140s, for the Italian police force in 2004.

Over 10,000 Gallardos have been produced and some of the more recent variations such as the Superleggera can hit top speeds of over 200mph.

Summary

Since its inception in 2003, the Lamborghini Gallardo has had a tremendous amount of success. A supercar to rival all supercars, it delivers style, speed, and performance to the highest quality.
