Volvo is a Swedish car manufacturer which produces a wide range of vehicles from passenger cars, trucks and buses to construction equipment. Renowned for its safety and durability, Volvo is one of the leading brands when it comes to electric cars and has had much success with its SUV models such as the Volvo XC40. You can read more Volvo reviews here.

Volvo history began in 1927, producing its first ever vehicle in a Gothenburg factory. It was not until after the Second World War that Volvo began obtaining recognition outside of Sweden. Since then it has perfected the materials, design and manufacturing, to make some of the safest, most environmentally friendly, dependable cars on the road today.

Volvo has been at the forefront of innovation. In 1944 it used laminated glass for the first time while in 1959 the three-point seatbelt was standard issue on all Volvo models. In 1956, Volvo began padding all their dashboards for safety reasons while in the 1960s Volvo developed the first rearward facing child-seat. Through the years Volvo has led the way for other brands with their innovative safety technology.

Prevously part of Ford, since 2010 Volvo Cars has been owned by the Chinese automotive firm Geely Holding Group.
