A woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a car was found lying on its roof in the middle of a Cardiff street.
Confused locals found the car, a white Vauxhall Astra, on Cathedral Road at around 11.30am on Saturday after hearing a loud noise. The vehicle had flipped onto its roof after hitting two parked cars.
The 22-year-old woman who was driving the vehicle was taken to hospital with minor injuries, fortunately nobody else was injured. She was later arrested.
Many of the local residents spoke to local newspapers or took to Twitter to share their versions of events.
Victoria Newman tweeted: "Intrigued to know how car flipped on roof on Cathedral Road when it's 30mph limit and mostly straight road."
Martyn Kelly tweeted, along with the above image, "Massive crash noise and a car just flipped in Pontcanna.”
Another witness, who chose to remain anonymous, recounted: "There was an almighty crash.
"She crashed into a car, just hitting that silver one [a Seat Ibiza] and it immediately rolled.
"As it hit, it hit another car."
It has led to several locals, not for the first time, calling upon the authorities to take action on the increasing volumes of traffic using the road.
Barry Gout, 71, had this to say: "They have got to look at the heavy traffic that goes up and down this road because it's getting ridiculous.
"The poor girl is lucky to be alive; they want to look at Cathedral Road and pay attention to the amount of traffic that goes up and down here."
