Subaru will unveil the new XV and the succinctly-titled 'SUBARU BRZ PROLOGUE - BOXER Sports Car Architecture II' at the forthcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.

The XV C-segment crossover is fitted with a 2.0-litre Boxer engine mated to a CVT gearbox. Subaru has been throwing around a lot of 'Brand Statements' in the run up to Frankfurt and its statement for the XV is 'Confidence in Motion'. Subaru claims the XV conveys "a sense of stylishness and lightness" and claims that four-wheel-drive, combined with new chassis technology, should make the XV a good car to drive.

The BRZ Prologue is tagged with the brand statement 'Pure Handling Delight'. This sounds like marketing waffle but in truth the BRZ sports car should be a good car to drive. Rear wheel drive should ensure an involving driving experience and, with a boxer engine keeping the centre of gravity low, the BRZ should also be planted through the corners.

Subaru's Frankfurt Motor Show press conference is scheduled to take place on 13th September at 9.30.
