The famous Le Mans racing venue will play host to the Porsche Carrera Cup GB this weekend.

As a supporting event to the Le Mans 24hr race there will be a joint race between the Porsche Carrera Cup GB and the Carrera Cup France on Saturday 14th June. The day marks a highlight for the Carrera Cup GB competition which has been running for the last twelve years.

The eight mile track will provide a 45 minute challenge during the build up to the legendary Le Mans 24hr race and there will be a grid of 911 GT3 Cup cars from around the world, most of which will be from Britain and France. The Race will be given more significance by the fact that Porsche will be making a return to the top LMP1 category of racing in the World Endurance Championship in 2014..

At the front of the Carrera Cup GB field is Michael Meadows who leads the Championship by 16 points and it's safe to say that he will be out to impress against the French contingent of the race. Also being suggested as a man to watch is Scholarship driver Josh Webster of Redline Racing who has shown excellent form recently and is expected to be a close chaser for Meadows. Ben Barker will also feature from Parr Motorsport and will be certain to be a serious challenger.
