An auction taking place at London’s Classic & Sports Car Show later this month will offer buyers the chance to buy some four-wheeled rock music memorabilia.

Amongst the 60 strong line up at the auction is a 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 S delivered new to Sir Rod Stewart, and a 1972 Maserati Ghibli 4.9SS formerly owned by U2 bassist Adam Clayton.

The Miura is expected to fetch between £800-900,000 when it goes under the hammer  at Alexandra Palace on Saturday, while the Ghibli – one of only eight right-hand drive versions of that particular model – carries an estimate between £240-280,000.

Other highlights of the sale run by auctioneers Coys include a 1953 Jaguar XK120 Drophead Coupe carrying an estimate of £70-80,000, a 1974 Ferrari 246 GT E Series with Scaglietti coachwork estimated between £280-325,000, a one-onwer-from-new 1964 Aston Martin DB5 estimated between £525-625,000), and a brace of Ferrari 512 BBs - including the 1977 London Motor Show car – which carry an estimate of between £225-275,000.
