Nissan is recalling more than 50,000 of its cars after faults were discovered with the cars' steering wheels.

It is thought that 48,000 2012 Qashqai and Qashqai+2 models are affected, as are 3,000 NV200 vans.

The issue was exposed when a driver in Finland reported that his car's steering wheel had come off in his hands while parking.

It is thought that around 7,000 of the affected cars were sold in the UK.

A recall note will be sent out in due course, but drivers should contact Nissan immediately if they have any concerns over their car's steering.
