To prepare UK motorists for the upcoming National Motorsport Week 2012 - which will run from 30 June to 8 July, the Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) and the Motor Sports Association (MSA) have launched an exciting new interactive website.

The website, www.nationalmotorsportweek, is set to be a meeting point where motoring fans will be able to find the latest news on NMW, alongside information on what events are taking place and how to get involved.

“Working together to grow support”

The count-down for National Motorsport Week 2012 has started, with the event set to open with the Goodwood Festival of Speed and close with the Santander British Grand Prix. The event organisers are hoping that this new site will encourage motoring fans to participate more than ever in the week’s activities.

MIA CEO, Chris Aylett, commented on the event:

“We need everyone to get involved in National Motorsport Week, working together to grow support for, and interest in, our great sport. Whether taking a friend or two who are new to motor sport to watch a race, running an event to catch local media attention or helping a local MSA club to promote their NMW event – everything helps and will feature on the new website. The site is open to all to promote their work...”

“There is real momentum building behind National Motorsport Week,” added Colin Hilton, Chief Executive of the MSA, governing body of UK motor sport.

“Whether it’s an F1 team opening its doors or a local club running a taster event, the website is a vital tool in making people aware of what is going on in their region during the period, so that they can get involved in the sport for the first time and discover just how much fun can be had on four wheels.
